Training Update

A recovery week starts today... don't feel like it's necessary (everything is long and slow until the new year) but I may as well enjoy it and get some schoolwork done. The last 3 weeks have been good, a nice balance with 4-5hrs running, 4.5 - 5.5 hrs on the bike and about 3 hrs in the pool each week. Total times: 11:20, 12:15 & 13:25. I'll cut back to about 7 hours this week and hopefully get out on my mountain bike and skate skis for a change in routine. Then I'm hoping to have my favorite running partner back the following week.

We've got a group of 4 of us going to watch the Leafs/Flames tomorrow night at the Saddledome; there'll be 3 Leafs Jerseys amongst us (and one Oil fan)!!!

Well, I should get back to my International Strategy Paper.

Time to wax the quiver!!!

Well, we awoke to our first snowfall of the season this morning and after last nights election results, the change seems appropriate. I always get like a little kid at christmas at this time of year because the first snowfall means ski season is right around the corner! In fact, Moraine Lake Road up at Lake Louise typically is skiable this coming weekend. While I doubt I'll get out this week, I am really looking forward to some long hours on the xc trails this winter. Nordic skiing is such a fantastic all around workout and I'm hoping it'll fit in nicely with my newfound tri training. Malindi and I went to Kyle's spin class at Speed Theory last night and it was a good time... we're planning on it being a regular Tuesday night occurance as it's a good way to get a couple of hours in the saddle now that winter has arrived. Oh and we realized there's a bit of a big road race during our planned February vacation in Hawaii, time to get out for a few more runs so I don't embarass myself! I'll update my training soon, few more days left in a hard cycle then it's time for a recovery week. G
